Wow you can reach out and touch something with that big boy! Want to see some 4 ft target shots with that one!! :D
I have a bunch of that Alliant Black MZ which does give you the smoke but not the mellow boom and flame like the real BP.
Clean up is easy though and won't corrode as much.

I shoot both percussion and Flint but I am way more accurate with my 50 cal. Percussions. If I was just getting one muzzy, it would be a percussion. At rendezvous, that's mostly what you'll see in their competitions, percussions.

Done deal; ordered it. .50 cal Frontier in the link above, browned barrel, and an extra fiberglass ramrod.

Couple months from Pedersoli, and this guy has no license issues like the high wall guy!!! He has a shipment arriving this week with over 40 rifles in it, but no caplocks this time. He says it's hard to stock these old timers because so many variations, and everyone is particular about what they want.

Look forward to some fun with it.

You will love it RR I know you will. But when you do get to Calgary do buy a couple LBs of 3fg if they have it. 2F will work to. Theres nothin like the boom of real black and the smell of that smoke.

So measuring by volume, a .50 cal lead ball.....start with .50 gr of Pyrodex or BP and go up from there correct?
