I was diagnosed as pre diabetic in April. I was at 210lbs. For some reason that diagnosis scared me more than my heart attacks did. I cut carbs to under 180 a day, stopped sweet tea and peanut butter cups. I am about 160 now, I was at 170 when I left the Army in 2004.

My only goal is to have a good bloodwork in February. Then I will work with the dietician to figure out how to have good stuff again in proper moderation.

It may be frustrating, but a Marine can do it if a broken Para can.
My DD214 lists me at 135 pounds.

I enlisted at about 111. After basic and Infantry School I was about 140 heading to Jump School. Miss those days, run forever, eat 8 times a day, and still make weight.

Sunday weigh in this week, 255.2, still slowly losing. Heading the right direction.

We had our first part of Christmas yesterday. I eat a lot. Rest of family here for Christmas on Wednesday. Another day of family cooking. Then leftovers for few days and then New Years Day. Will do my weigh in Sunday morning, the 4th, after new years. I am walking a little more each day.

weighed in for my Sunday. 257.2

Not the direction I wanted to go, but Christmas Dinner was awesome and you are supposed to have a cheat day now and then. Tina made a Banana pudding, and bought a German Chocolate Cake. No more cake for me, and the nana puddin' is gone. I am back on the path. No more cheat days during the kids visit for the next three days starting tomorrow. I am on the straight and narrow. :)

Gained back three pounds actually, but I lost one already. ;)

I was just under 180 a couple weeks ago and then the holidays hit I reached 185 but am back to 183.2. I can loose 3.2 in a day but it would all be bowel and intestinal weight and isn’t a true loss of weight. I co to the Wausau VA Clinic on the 6th and see a nutritionist. This will be my third visit. I like her as she gave me the Kwik Trip diet.

I hit my target weight this morning of 165, but when I got out of the Army and weighed 165 I didn't have a pot belly.
Not the same for some reason.

Our Christmas it tomorrow. We had the flu during the real Christmas so the whole family is coming for dinner tomorrow. The diet restrictions are OFF for the coming couple of days.

Carol is hard at work baking her favorite treats for everyone and she will feature Prime Rib with all the trimmings for dinner tomorrow evening.

As for tonight, New Years Eve, I haven't decided what sweat suit to wear to the the living room yet, but I'm sure it will be stylish. :o

Our Christmas with family was Monday Thru Wednesday. Tina made a $200 Bison Prime Rib. The daughter is allergic to all meats but natural Bison and Venison. She can't eat most canned veggies, so she grows her own. They all ate well. I stayed below my 1500 calorie limit, in fact, below 1000. Hectic three days. Son, daughter, their spouses, two grandkids, three dogs, plus Tina and Fiona and I. Sheesh, the house doesn't usually feel small.

Bison was perfect. Sandwiches the second day. No leftovers by day three. Just enough food. Trip south to deliver some larger presents this weekend. :ugeek: Waiting until after the main holiday traffic dies.
