I have to say I have been a bit disappointed with SVGs performance the first half of the season. I honestly though he would finish top 20 most weeks and around 20th in points. Trackhouse have been poor in qualifying across all 3 cars but thing have improved a little in recent races with SVG finishing top 20 in 4 out of the last 5 races.
Still think he will make the playoffs with a road course win and there are 4 of them in the next 11 races before the playoffs. With 9 drivers having already taken wins this season it could be extremely difficult to point your way into the playoffs and those without a win are going to become increasingly desperate in the upcoming events.
Mexico city this weekend may be SVGs best chance, a track no one has raced means track experience is the same for everyone.

Yeah, I have sure noticed that a switch got flipped on that team. What could be a problem in Mexico is the elevation. Some drivers are stating concerns on it. How is the elevation where his home area is at and wondering if he would be used to it? I read where the Mexican track has an elevation of about 7,500 Ft. Could be a plus for him if he is.

I hadnt really considered the altitude, some of the drivers will undoubtably handle it better than others, how the teams deal with the effect on cars will probably influence results even more. Thinner air means the cars will be down on horse power also means they will be down on downforce. Setup is going to be crucial, no one is going to have any data to work from until the 1st practice session.
