43' with steady rain. Misty fog in the tree tops. Both make for dank dark day.

30 as this is being typed .... forecasted high 50 with the temp dropping to 24 overnight .... no rain .... another off day with a blank space on the calendar .... yesterday evening we decided we wanted to have a fire in our home fireplace .... it has literally been a matter of years since we have burned one .... the logs have been in there for years and burned quickly .... it has been reserved for emergency use and thankfully no emergencies have a arisen ... today I'll lay another set of green logs in the fireplace and shut the damper

Nice looking fire Jim.

31 here with some wind. Slept in past the news today so I don’t know what the wind speed is but not damaging anyway. 35 for the high with rain in the forecast. Might see some sunshine in the next few days. We need it.

Good morning, Happy Sat. to all.
A cool 26 out there this AM.
Starting the year off right :o working this first Saturday of the year. ;)
Not to worry it'll be a short day, got one little bit gable to do then finish the cleanup and load the trailer.
No work next week as the temps will be to cold to do what we do.
Trust me that vinyl doesn't cut well in freezing weather.

32 today with a high in the mid 30’s expected. Got a couple of inches of snow overnight, just enough to cause me to shovel around the house. No need to do the driveway thankfully.

Otherwise I’m planning on doing some online insurance quotes as our Safeco plan is getting unaffordable. Spoke with the AARP Hartford folks a few days ago and I’m still waiting for the quote from underwriting. Not great customer service as we first spoke last Tuesday. But I bet they are getting hammered with people like me who are sick of the companies increases.

We've been lucky. Years ago we found a really good independent agent. He does the legwork for us every year to find best deal.

33 with a wet snow falling that is turning to rain. Hooray for that! Local news starts shortly but I expect we’ll see mid 30’s today for the high. The cooling off this week with lows in the lower 20’s and highs in the lower 30’s and maybe some sun.

Glad I’m not traveling as the passes around here are getting hammered. My neighbor is leaving for South California tomorrow but his route doesn’t hit a pass until southern Oregon. Worst part for him is getting out of our very hilly community if the roads are slick. Big class A towing a jeep so lots of weight pushing down the hill.

18 F with a little wind. It's not currently snowing.
Coffee is in the Farmall mug. George Winston is playing on the ipods.

If the snow holds off, a short rabbit hunt around the pasture later.

I hope your day is good.

Near 50'. Damp but dry sky with sun trying to burn through the cloudy haze. Supposed to be that way for most of the week.
