47 at 8:30AM with the forecast calling for it to reach 65 this afternoon before dropping to an overnight low of 42 .... much cooler temps coming where both highs and lows will be 20+ degrees cooler .... Christmas decoration are down and stored and we are settling back into our daily grind .... schools are still closed, our grandkids are in "track-out camp" .... thankfully, the storm mentioned above fell apart just west of us .... I don't know of any storm related problems in our area .... meds/grocery run on tap for later this morning

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
31 this morning and the weather person told me it’s foggy out my way but it’s still too dark to know for sure. High today will be in the mid to upper 30’s and it’s supposed to be dry. Maybe some light snow to bring in the new year tomorrow but thankfully tonight the roads should be dry for all the fools out on them. Stay safe folks.
Like you Coop, all the Christmas decorations have been put away other than the outdoor stuff (not much) I’ll do that today as I’ve been waiting for a not so rainy day to do it. Then load up the wood rack on the patio and enjoy the evening here at home with the dogs.

Damp with light fog. 34'
Christmas decorations will start to be put away tomorrow. Some of the dual purpose (Christmas/Winter) outdoor lighting will stay in place until end of Feb. It's dark here. More so under the forest canopy. So the lights help keep the drearies at bay until we have more daylight. Just a late afternoon/evening thing. About 10pm or a little later all the lighting goes dark.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
first of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR do hope 2025 turns out to be a good one for all of our folks .... I was up and about at midnight to see in this new year .... it was very quiet in our area, with only a few booms from fireworks .... 47 at 9:30AM .... much cooler (make that colder) air is at our doorstep .... our high yesterday was a very pleasant 69, today they say we will only get up to 56 .... low last night 38, predicted low tonight 28 .... we've already dropped our Blazer off at the dealership .... yesterday I was topping off window cleaner fluid to our vehicles and I noticed that the Blazer's brake fluid reservoir was dry .... don't know much about these newer vehicles but do know that historically that ain't good .... no clue how long its been that way .... no codes, no change in performance, no sign of any leaks, no clue what's going on ....
additional comment : additional comment : beautiful day, yep .... with the 6 to 12 MPH wind its pretty cool .... nonetheless we decided to take Maureen's pup for a walk over to our local city park .... per the pedometer on Maureen's phone we walked over a mile .... with the temps due to fall considerably over the new couple of weeks, we figured this might be the best time to do so for a while .... the park was surprisingly busy, guess post Christmas cabin fever has set in .... as a side note, as we did yesterday, walking over a mile in Walmart while pushing a buggy feels much different than walking much the same distance in our city park .... for us a walk in the park seems to take more out of us

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
29 with a light snow falling which in not expected to amount to much (yea). Mid 30’s for the high.
No plans for the day but I really need to get myself motivated and straighten up the garage. Good way to start the new year.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
33 F not going any higher. The rain is just turning to snow here. Back to winter weather. We might get six inches from now to the weekend.
The first cup of coffee for 2025 is in the Mary Lou's News mug.
The tree is coming down today. It's going outback to rest with the other old Christmas trees and make shelter for animals.
I hope your day is great.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
Good morning, little chilly here, was 26 when I arose around 5.
Checked a few minutes ago and it dropped a degree, but
it's suppose to be around 50 later.
Going to work in a bit, but it's got to warm up some first.

It’s currently 19F and will keep dropping. Lows in the next ten days will be in the negative with highs in the single digits. Good shooting weather.

Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
IF the forecast is correct, the "winter mix" that is supposed to move our way this weekend will pass north of us so we are only in for cold .... 32 as this is being typed on its way to 50 later today before falling to 28 overnight .... only thing on tap for a day is Maureen has an appointment with an Endocrinologist .... just realized this is the only medical appointment we have this week .... we don't have many weeks like that .... we've had firewood stacked and ready to light for three years or so .... the main reason we haven't lite it is that is all the cured firewood we have .... it has been our ace in the hole being held for a power outage .... courtesy of our youngest son we now have a small stack of firewood that could last us for a couple of days .... looking forward to burning it sometime in the next week
Re: Our Morning Coffee and Weather
27 and dark but it looks like it might be foggy out there. High should tickle the mid 30’s. We had a little bit of snow yesterday that will make roads slick where it’s not dry. 2-5” of snow predicted for tomorrow but I’m sure it will be another broken promise just like every other snow prediction this year.
Leaving in an hour for a dentist appt so I may get to experience some slick roads. Better today than tomorrow probably
