Yesterday I loaded up another 100 357 cartridges. I plan to load up another 100 which should keep me going for a while as I don’t shoot much in the winter. I do need to make a trip up to where my range is located to do some outdoor burning so I’ll probably burn some powder too.

I played around with seating .357 bullets in 350 legend cases. I will probably need to size them down to .355/.356.

I walked into the Corpus Christi gun club today to pay my winter dues. I looked up on the powder shelf and there set an 8lb jug of gold. Unique powder. I use it in my 20ga skeet loads. I have another jug here in Texas USA that has about 6lbs left in it. But now guess what another 8lber goes home with me. Top it all all with a 345.00 price tag on it. I sure do like Texas.

I ran across my first varget a month or so back. I'd been waiting to find some for my 223 loads.
I guy had it in his hands and he as trying to convince his wife it was unobtainium. He put it back; I waited a moment and snagged it.
I last summer I also picked up a couple of 8lbers of unopened estate sale products. 1680, and h110. Stupid low prices on those.
Primed 900 45 colt cases last night, and another 125 today.

Good catch Al. I haven't seen any Unique around here for a long time.BigAl52 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 6:15 pmI walked into the Corpus Christi gun club today to pay my winter dues. I loaded a batch of .357's with cast 158's over a mild load of Power Pistol on my Dillon SDB. After getting tripped up in most of the booby traps the auto index could throw at me I'm actually starting to like the little beast. My vocabulary was somewhat polluted during the first few sessions though.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Great snag Al, and at a decent price.
Well, I'm headed out in a min.
Taking my short 35 Rem. and the 41 Blackhawk for a little hunt.
Got to lookin around last night and none of my favorite hunting loads.
So I sat down and made 10 right quick, usually only takes one though.
Some 200 gr cast from a Lee clone of RCBS's 200 gr fn. loaded over 34.0 grs. of 3031.
Very accurate in both Marlin 35's.
Off to the woods, y'all have a good day.

Polluted vocabulary happens more times than not anymore. I find that anytime I fool with an electronic device that it often goes south. Or deal with and Ins. Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
My shelf that holds all my T8 reloading heads fell off the wall yesterday. So, I have that repair going on today. I received 7lbs of 357 sig brass last night. So, I can prep that once my shelf is up.

Going to load up 25 .38 spl with MBC coated 158gr rnfp and 25 .45 acp with MBC 230gr coated RN. Both using Win 231 powder, which is "new' to me for handloading. Ought to work fine in those two.
Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
I got my shelf hung back up, and trimmed all my 45 colt brass.

Re: What did you do at your reloading bench today?
Nice I do a little casting myself.
Last week I was gifted about 27, 28 lbs of some clean lead, and
then the sil was at his grandfather's last week and brought me 380 lbs.
That I gave him .50 cents a lb for. It was all wheel weight lead that he had smelted and cleaned up.
He was big into fishing, but these will be turned into something that'll go a little faster and farther.
I just loaded some 163gr 357 bullets into 35 Rem. cases, gonna see if the grandson wants to try out.
Going to get him shortly.

Have a great time today! I've not delved into casting before.

Went to a gun show today. I saw #11 percussion caps for 25.00 a tin. Thats just Hwy robbery. I cant believe people in shooting sports would have enough balls to charge that much. I alos sa Rossi leveguns so far overpriced I hope the eat them for what they are asking.

at WW they were five+ dollars per 100.
One of the gun shops that visit that sells loading supplies usually has some in stock at around $10 per tin.
