It's good to see an old Fisher get new life. Here stoves older than 1994 are illegal. Grandfathered if you still have one, but have to be removed and scraped/recycled before you can sell your property.

Up in Stevens County (just north of Spokane County) several years ago they offered $200.00 cash for old stoves. The goal was to get old inefficient polluting stoves out of service hoping folks would replace them with EPA compliant stoves. At that time we were in the process of demolishing the shack my wife’s uncle lived in and pulled the stove out and got the $200.


That Fisher should serve you well Gene, you’re sure making your garage a cozy friendly place.

I really like that stove and the idea of the peg board above the plywood is great. Looks very nice.

The modern EPA approved stoves last about 10-15 years. The old ones like the Fisher will last forever with a $40 brick job every 20 years.

I unboxed one set of cabinets. I bought three lower chests and two uppers. One lower will be used as a work area. I plan on getting a bigger work island and will then make the lower more of a writing table.

The upper chest will cover most of the pegboard when open.

I can charge and store my batteries although in the winter will bring them into the house.

The sides also have a place that takes DeWalt tools.

I chose DeWalt because they are better built than Craftsman and made in the USA.

I transferred the wood to the shop today. I get the stove pipe on Friday and it should be operational Saturday.

I’m back to putting up plywood in the morning. I’ve got all the outdoor projects finished for the year and everything is winterized. I get the chimney pipes on Friday and by the time it gets cold again I’ll have heat.

Very nice cabinets. Was looking at cabinets and tool boxes on SnapOn's site and you would have to sell at least both of your kidneys to get them. Just guessing at your sizes and it looks like their budget line would be 3 times the cost of your DeWalts.

Their 84" top of line cabinets can cost $20,000. I don't understand how they can justify those prices.

I have one Snap-on and it cost more than my six Craftsmans and five DeWalts. Comparing size to size the Snap-Ons are much heavier.
