What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Will be punching out primers and tumbling 45 Colt brass today.

Put the last 100 pcs in the tumbler this am. Start putting in primers next week.

Still working up a load for my Long Ranger in .243 Win. with the Sierra 85 grain GK. My last laddered loads were using RL15, H4064 and H4350. So after shooting those, the RL15 at 38.0 grains at the top of the RL15 ladder and was the tightest group at a 3 shot average of 1.1" at 100 yards.
So, wanting to see if that improves with a tad more powder, today, I loaded some loads at 38.3 and 38.7 grains of RL15.
(If it doesn't improve, I'll be happy with the 1.1" since I'll be hunting and not competitive shooting.)
This rifle is really fun to shoot off-hand too.

I've got 50 pcs, 45/70 , brass ready to load. Also, out of the 50 pcs, I'm going to run a test on different powder charges. My standard load has been 41grs. IMR 4198. So, what I'm going to do is:
3 ea. with 41 grs.
3 ea. with 41.5 grs.
3 ea. with 42 grs
3 ea. with 40.5 grs.
3 ea. with 40 grs.
All will be fired @ 25 yes, thru the chronograph.

The standard 41 grs. works really well, but, always room for improvement. We'll see.
All I need now is some cooperative weather.

A pic of new 125 gr bullet I am going to load. Compared to the Nosler 158 gr unit I have been using.

Just playing with loads and velocity.

Anybody done this? Ideas?

Is that a Berrys or Xtreme Fish. Yes Ive loaded some 125 grain Montana Gold Bullets before. They shot well but not as accurate as the 158. 6gr of Unique should get you somewhere close.

They are Everglades. I hadn’t heard of accuracy issues. I only have 110 on hand. Will set some up and let you know results.

I got the 500 .223 cases that I wet pin cleaned and dried yesterday all annealed today.

Do you find that pins can get stuck in the flash holes?

No sir, I've never had that happen.

I've had it happen on 9mm & 40 S&W. Dont recall any on rifle brass.
