.
It's actually a cropped HenryUSA picture, if that wasn't obvious. I may go back to it at some point. But I wanted to use the new one before BRM beat me to it.

Like I said, it is what it is, just posted it for info. I have been doing nothing but reloading for awhile now, time to go unload some at the range...
It's a vicious cycle, RR. Unload, reload, but...it has to be done, right?

Alberta gov't wants to appoint it's own chief firearms officer for the province now. Currently the CFO is based out of Ottawa and is a federal decision maker on licensing, classifications etc. Alberta gov't also looking at canceling the RCMP here (hired to police the province) and establish an Alberta provincial police force. That would be better too. Much less federal control. Oh those crazy Canucks eh?

So I read today that these guns are not for sale anymore as of yesterday, one dealer in Calgary has $100k of inventory now he can't sell. Owners have 2 yrs to turn their guns in for a gov't buyback, but it's voluntary??? Gee I wonder how many they'll get...   ...or they can keep them if they want but they are now classified as prohibited so you can't legally shoot them anywhere, so what were once legal owners will now shoot them anyway and break the law....

Not a real well thought out plan by the sound of it....glad I shoot old cowboy guns.

I don't think that I am being political (or religious), but Cain did not have a gun. My point, death has been in this world for a while. If someone wants to kill someone, he will find a way.

Here's the published list and rules. It's long. It also covers a amnesty period of 2 years that expires April 30 2022, during which time owners of the prohibited weaponry can dispose of their property. After that you're automatically a criminal if I'm reading it right. It also includes prohibition of any firearm that is capable firing of a projectile that exceeds 10,000 joules (7375 lb/ft) of muzzle energy. A .50 BMG exceeds that by almost double.

This has been discussed on another forum I belong to, and folks are wondering if the weapons on the list will be showing up in the States as legal exports from Canada. They might, since exporting is permitted during the amnesty period according to this.

Here's another twist that has been uncovered by the CSSA legal guys. If you have a 12 gauge shotgun that is threaded to accept certain screw in chokes the bore diameter may meet or exceed 20mm. A 10gauge threaded for a choke most certainly would. Thereby rendering your shotgun illegal. Here's the legal opinion by CSSA:
