Dont know how much you use the 300 WBY.

we certainly fire it as much as we do our Henry rifles but I do enjoy sending a few rounds down range as often as I can .... I've learned the hard way that its best to not stockpile a large number of them

I batch load rifle calibers anyway on my Lee Turret. It's still much more convenient than a single stage.

Here is what I am envisioning but maybe not this tall.

that is basically what I'm thinking .... box tube inserted into the receiver .... threaded pipe screwed into a coupler welded onto the top of that box tube .... other end of pipe also threaded so it can be screwed into a coupler welded to the back of the plate .... unsure as to size of the plate .... may may not have it large enough to accommodate just the press, the press and a powder measure, or even larger .... can easily use a folding TV tray for that .... such a setup would permit it to be easily disassembled for storage

thanks for the information, suggestions and comments .... right down to having my finger on the mouse to place the order, I was still jumping between the Lee Turret and Lock-n-Load Classic .... bottom line, I have ordered the Lock-n-Load .... in the end, my familiarity with the Hornady press and its Lock-n-Load design proved to be the deciding factor .... the press should be here in 4 days and once I have it I can move to designing the portable stand

This would be about an hour in my shop and for the cost of a half rack!

that would sure be nice .... I've got to get over to a plumbing supply house and see if I can find the rest of the parts I need

first generation shown below .... I already had the hitch .... so far, $15 spent on parts at Home Depot .... hardest par so far was using a Dremel type tool to route out the hole in the hitch so it was large enough to accommodate the 3/4" pipe .... tomorrow I hope to come up with some spacers .... still debating metal or wood plate

another $14 spent on pipes and spacers .... now have 4", 5", & 6" riser pipes .... the board is one I have on hand .... hope it will work out, if not will find something else .... supposed to rain all day, don't anticipate being able to bolt it all together until tomorrow at the earliest .... we were pleasantry surprised to have the new press arrive a day early ....unsure exactly how we will bolt it to the board, may use wingnuts

Looks like it outta work but I think I would bolt it securely with standard nuts.

Hopefully the surface area of the base the wood will be mounted to is large enough to provide enough surface area to support the press!

understood on the surface area .... time will tell .... the only reason for wingnuts is to help speed up the setup and take down .... my hope is to stream line the process to where it requires the fewest possible tools

You will need an anti-rattle device for your receiver, to eliminate the large amount of slop that will otherwise be very annoying. I really like this type, there are many clones, some are just junk. If you plan to actually tow with it, get a name brand:

In this case I would consider some 'star' knob screws. Larger and greater surface area to grip them with to tighten them down.

I really like the one in the link you provided and if I was to ever need one to use while towing, I'm pretty certain that is the one I'd go with .... I happened on a much cheaper Hitch Tightener ===> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B9 ... UTF8&psc=1 .... for our use, I believe it will do what we need so I've placed one on order

today I was able to purchase the stainless hardware required to bolt the press to the shelf .... my hope is to be able to make it work with wingnuts .... if not, the nuts will .... it was cold here today, I hope to be able to drill the holes in the shelf and get the portable press assembled .... all of our family's reloading gear is located at one of our son's place .... I've arranged to pick it up all of the items I need to pull the bullets from faulty 300 WBY brass and reload them in good, new brass should be on hand tomorrow .... history has proven to me that if our new portable setup is able to handle reloading 300 WBY, its good to go for everything else we may need it for

this afternoon I used our new Hornady Classic press for the first time .... .... the task was to pull the 19 bullets shown in the picture below .... all are Nosler 30 caliber 180 gr bullets .... 6 with the white tips are Accubonds and the 13 green tips are Ballistic Tips .... no, I have not anchored down press .... so, I had to work it while holding it on my lap .... at its best, pulling bullets isn't an easy operation but its done .... all 19 were in 300 WBY nickel plated brass that was discussed in the "Casing Failure" thread ===> http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... by#p129383 .... all 19 will be reloaded in prefired regular brass for range use
