Some pics from today. I took a couple dozen and will post more once I sort them. It was a good day, extra help showed up. Cattle moved well. All of these will calve in the next week or so. The owner put off moving another bunch of cows and calves until later next week. This is 276 cows.

Just had a "I'd like to see" thought on your last three pictures. I'd like to see these scenes in a video, and be able to hear those cattle "talking" to you as you're walking them across the plains. That would be mellow!

Never been in a saddle, so no experience with being saddle sore.
Except it's probably like the "sore" from being on a motorcycle seat for hours & hours & hours.....I know that feeling!!

Yes, it's about stirrup deep in the middle, not too bad but the water is moving fast. One of the dogs started across about a 1/4 mile west of where he came ashore... The cows take their time but that's ok, it was a long trail day and they were thirsty, so we let them water as long as they want. Gotta take care of expectant moms....

Those horse ears remind me a little of the shape of Henry buckhorn rear sights. And they have the cattle perfectly sighted in!
