I don't scrub the burn rings off.........If I did I'd spent more time scrubbing than shooting.....Besides they gonna come back the next time you pull the trigger.

Yes, cleaning a firearm can be a lot of work. But, I like for things to be in the best condition possible. It seems to help things work better longer.

Color me crazy but I LOVE cleaning my guns. Little background music, shut out the world for a while. Same with reloading -

I've been using the cloth for years. Works great! like magic. Only way to go on SS. Don't get near blued surfaces though.
So do you cut sections off or just use the whole thing? I got it and it turned black picking up whatever leftovers were on my "cleaned" ss revolver lol - amazing!

I just keep it in one piece. I wipe off all that will come off very easily with another cloth and a basic solvent. Then I use it for the tough stuff.

For the front of the cylinders on my two stainless revolvers I use a little stainless polish and it makes appear to be unfired.

A lead Away cloth and a Pink Pearl eraser works a charm.

I just rub the cylinder face with a little oil on my thumb. Don't see any need to go hog wild on it.

On stainless, I just clean it with a brass bristle brush and brite bore, then clean the discoloration with mother’s mag polish. Use a short bristle brush like a .22 cal bore brush. It’s easier to control the surface you’re cleaning so you don’t scuff up the sides of the cylinder. After a few times, the front of the cylinder becomes very smooth and is easier to remove the carbon.
