CCW holders: What do you carry?

Don't have anything small enough to conceal, but if I did it would probably be mid size Beretta or Walther 9mm.

comments/observations appreciated .... as a bit of background info, my wife is 74 years old (I can say that because she doesn't read this forum ) .... physically she is in better general condition than I am but her hand strength isn't anywhere near what it once was .... in looking for a concealed carry weapon for her, we tried a pretty good range of them .... several good semi autos didn't feel good to her, she wasn't comfortable working with a clip .... the trigger pull on hammerless revolvers and pistols was such that her chances of holding the barrel steady were slim to none .... trips to the range proved to be very frustrating to her .... when she tried the revolver shown above she was comfortable with the way it felt in her hand, she could easily cock it and fire it singe action, she could fire it double action better than any others she tried .... she is comfortable loading and unloading it .... sighting it wasn't easy for her, hopefully that will come with time .... to aid in this, the Crimson Trace Lazer was added, she is very comfortable it with .... as background for me, I was an instructor with NC's Dept of Correction, at the time I retired I had more time spent armed "in pursuit of fleeing felons" than the rest of the 700 person staff combined at the prison where I worked .... over time I've come to believe that the ability to place the first round where it will do some good is critical .... I hope it never happens but, sadly, in today's world I can envision my wife ending up in a situation where she may need to defend herself or others .... I do not envision her being involved in a running fire fight requiring multiple reloads .... while we were in St Louis a few weeks ago we went to Jay Henges shooting range several times ... collectively she fired several hundred rounds (our light reloads) at up to 15 yards .... as noted, her concealed carry instructor didn't mention any concerns with using reloads .... the reason I am considering the HSM ammo is I've found them to be accurate and to have less recoil .... once I buy a box and let her give it a try we will know much more

Sounds like a well thought out and executed search for the right gun and ammo. The love of my life and I are beginning the same process.

if you are comfortable with a wheel gun, and not comfortable with a bottomfeeder, then by all means you should probably carry the wheelgun. A well placed SD .38 will do the job, and it is unlikely you will need more than 5. .

I always carry a BUG gun even with a 13 shot Glock 23 . I practice double tap . So a 5 shot "J" frame is 2 bad guys and 1 miss .

No, that should be 2 and half bad guys.

Just wondering what the concealed-weapon permit holders on here prefer for everyday carry.

I go with a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm in a Sneaky Pete holster (sort of like an oversized cell phone case).

I also have two S&W revolvers on my permit, but one is too big for on-the-body use (I often haul it around in a backpack) and my wife will eventually carry the little one.
