Maybe a new game to play?

Post by bandit1250 » Fri Jun 14, 2019 8:00 pm

I haven't been able to shoot for two days now due to weather. This evening the winds died down from the very gusty winds we had today earlier. I wanted to try my Grand Finale CZ on something a little different. Took a piece of board and drilled 4 holes in it. was in a hurry or would have drilled a dozen. None of the bigger kitchen matches so had to use the smaller ones. Pushed my car back to get two more yds. and make it 24 yds. These are to small for my scope(6X) at past 30 yds. any way. The next bigger size matches will be better at the longer distance. Had to take two shots to get it on to hit the thin match stick. Then I hit the 4 with four shots but one was on the edge.

The next 4 was 4 for 5 shots.

The third string was 4 for 4 shots.

Then I decided to switch ammo as the RWS box had only two left in it. Switched to Aguila standard vel. Shot at a line on the backer and had to move it 2 clicks left. Then it looked good on the backer. The first shot missed the match and from the backer I needed more left. Moved it again two clicks and hit. Missed one more shot before running the next three off. So on that string switching ammo I took 6 shots to hit 4 match sticks. A friend wants us to try to strike the bigger matches on a calm evening. Should be fun to try that.

Yeah! Yeah, do that! Hey, just kidding! That is some fine shooting bandit. I'm gonna have to try that when I get brave enough. Fine shooting indeed and impressed.

These Chinese matches don't even light very well using the striker on the box. I have to get some good brand ones if that is even possible any more.

Assuming you shot from the left and lit all 4 with one bullet....

The lack of holes in any of the “backstop” items makes me think you missed the point!

I really don't get what you are saying here and with the eye rolling. The holes in my 'back stop" would be hard to see when my back stop is a 400+ lb. home made bullet trap full of several hundred lb. of sand and a 2ft diameter oak log over a foot thick in front of it that I put my target board in front of. How many thousand bullet holes in my back stop do you want to see? I posted shooting the matches so maybe some one else would like to try some thing they maybe never tried before. The same with shooting the cards. I get bored with shooting bulls eyes all the time. Lets see some of your shooting skills. You may have something you shoot I might want to try. I like looking at other members posting their shooting with their rifles and hand guns. Tomorrow I might shoot M&M's and then try to shoot the flies that land on the splatter from the chocolate. ;) Wow. Another new game I can try.

I agree with changing it up. Bought some playing cards yesterday! Thank you for the idea.

Maybe take a minute and relax there bandit! I was joking that the lit matches were on your cleaning bench, with (thankfully) no bullet holes in your walls or cleaning supplies. Your shooting skills are obviously great as not too many of us could likely even hit a matchstick. Obviously sometimes things don’t translate well across the interweb, but you might want to try and take less offence by what you <think> posts are saying.

I’d bet you CAN hit those M&Ms too...
