Nice time of year. Everything green and fresh. Perfect for long days in the saddle!

Keep rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them dogies rollin'
Rawhide!
Through rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin' my gal was by my side.
All the things I'm missin'
Good vittles, love, and kissin'
Are waiting at the end of my ride.

Move 'em on, head 'em up
Head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Rawhide
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in,
Ride 'em in, let 'em out,
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in
Rawhide!

Keep movin', movin', movin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them dogies movin'
Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just rope, and throw, and brand 'em
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
My heart’s calculatin'
My true love will be waitin'
Be waiting at the end of my ride.

Try thinking about the Blues Brothers.

Nice try, but not even the Blues Brothers could adequately cover Frankie Lane's recording. It's his that will rattle around in my brain all day today.

Some pics from today. I took a couple dozen and will post more once I sort them. It was a good day, extra help showed up. Cattle moved well. All of these will calve in the next week or so. The owner put off moving another bunch of cows and calves until later next week. This is 276 cows.

More. In this pic we were sorting out some bull calves. Near the end of the day. We gather the whole pasture and hold everything in a corner so we can ride through them and look for the calves we want.

More including a couple of curious coyotes who followed me around for awhile. And some wide open country. Rode for about 7 hrs to get it all done, my horse is tired and so am I. Great day. Will post more pics maybe tomorrow.
The 3rd pic has a dog in it. Kind of a where's Waldo photo...

The first photo from behind almost looks like Hoss and Little Joe moving that cattle across the Ponderosa!
Nice shot. Glad your extra help showed and made it a good day.
