Cold and rainy here this am. Boomers were my alarm clock. Need more heat.

Cloudy and gloomy day but at least it's not raining, course they're predicting more rain tonight.

All this rain has cratered my drive way so I guess I'll have to get the old 8N out and do some blading, but
first I'm going shooting.

our run of carbon copy weather forecast in central NC for a high of 96 and 0% chance of precipitation for today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow .... there is some talk of a cool front moving in over the weekend .... sure hope that proves to be accurate .... yet another morning where we will be rather quickly switching from coffee to iced tea

It was a tense evening yesterday with the huge tornado on the ground in Linwood, KS. My daughter drove home from Lawrence, KS and went quite close to Linwood on I-70 as she headed to KCMO. Basically, her drive home somewhat aligned with the storm's slow travel.

Then the tornado cell activity headed our way, turning on warning sirens all along its path. We spent time in our basement, and grateful the tornado pulled up into the clouds and missed our area. The city next door, Gladstone, was a "target" on the news/weather. After it went by, we watched subsequent reporting as it headed NE toward Liberty and Kearney, MO where it again dropped into a rotation on the ground.

The most unusual impact for us was the extreme early evening darkness, and as the tornado cell went nearby, we had 1-1/2" of rain within less than 15 minutes. Surprisingly and gratefully very little impact for such a tense evening.

Both my daughter and I have a lot of friends in Lawrence, KS, and also in the rural areas near where the tornado hit. Her former landlords live in the rural Linwood area, and said all was fine at their home, but the tornado wiped out other homes/structures less than one mile from their home.

Yes, 'twas a tense evening for many KS/MO folk along the wide Missouri. Thank God for minimal injuries reported today.

55° this morning , heading on the way to 87° I guess. Good chance of rain froecasted, and I actually hope we do get some.

I was able to watch one tornado destroy parts of a neighboring town when I was really young, and I hope that I never get to do that again.

Overcast here, we are blessed to have had rain yesterday and last night. Mouch of Alberta is buried under thick smoke from northern fires. Everything here this morning is soaking wet.

Tae in Henry mug, then off to the dump with the weekly load of trash. Maybe shoot later.

our streak of record or near record highs has apparently come to an end .... a "cold" front has moved through and dripped the temp (right now) to 91 .. .. and brought with it an 80% chance of strong thunderstorms for later this evening .... we could use the ran but not the other things that can come with a strong thunderstorm .... iced tea is once again the order of the day
