Years ago, I was a cat herder on an old phpp board (much like this) and we were overrun by bots signing up for membership, and doing other things that ended up taking too much of our time to deal with. It pretty much had us close down the board after a few months.....

I am hoping the hosting platform has gotten much better in the intervening years, as the look is still very much the same, and I can only hope the security on the other end has been beefed up accordingly......which I am sure it has.
