NHL Playoffs

Post by JayZuv » Tue Apr 16, 2019 10:23 pm

Any Hockey fans here? Hockey is by far my favorite sport. Sadly I'm a Sabres fan so I don't get to watch them play until next year, but the playoffs are by far the most exciting games of the year. If you follow the game, who do you have winning the cup? If you don't watch, All of the playoff games are on National TV so it's a great chance to get into it! I assure you that you won't be bored by it.

Big time Hockey fan here. Theres another thread on the Stanley Cup in the lounge area here. I think Ranchroper is a fan to but he only likes the Canadians. I of course hope the Avs win it all but there chances of doing that are slim. Big upset tonight with Columbus kicking the best team in the NHL to the curb in 4 games. Thats amazing considering Tampa Bay set an NHL record with 62 wins. To early for me to pick a winner.

Oops, didn't even see that. Big hockey fan here as well, been playing all over the country since I was 7 or 8. Yeah I would say that just about everyone is shocked by the Blue Jackets getting the sweep. Kinda makes me want to root for them to go the distance now. I'm going out on a wild guess that Washington and Nashville meet in the finals. By the way, Cale Makar is the real deal! I'm excited to watch how he does in a full season.

right up front, I've never been a hockey fan .... that said, I do try to support local teams, no matter what their sport may be .... I'm sitting here tonight watching game playoff match #4 in the series between the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals, with the Caps up 2-1 .... the match is being played in Raleigh and it appears that the arena is packed .... I do know that Rod Brind'Amour is their head coach but I can't name a single player .... the Canes are up 1-0 at the end of the first period .... they took the puck on the opening face-off and scored in 17 seconds

My daughter's family will be happy with that win by the Canes. Not a big fan myself but did go to the Blackhawk parade with my son ( ex - goal tender ). Crazy, crazy day.

Go Avs they did it knocked off the Number 1 seed in the Western Conference. Now to round 2. First time in NHL history both Number 1 seeds have been knocked out of the first round.

RR I wonder what the local sports guys are saying about that. Surely they are questioning what happened.

I love hockey but we no longer have a team in Houston. We did have the AH Houston Aeros (Minn Wild) but they could not reach a lease agreement with then Rockets owner Les Alexander to stay in Houston. They're in Iowa now as the Iowa Wild. I have been a follower of Minnesota but recently have been put off by their management decisions. I've been following the NY Islanders ever since Cal Clutterbuck left Minnie. I've been watching and rooting more for them this year than the Wild. Maybe one day we'll get a team in Houston again.
