Skipped shooting with the guys this week as I'm working with the contractor on my new shop.
Withdrawal! Next week it's supposed to be nice.

50 with steady rain. Maybe 56 later. Usually like this off and on (mostly on) until about mid-June.

;) Scattered showers and around 60. Think it might be a good afternoon to go to the lousy indoor range.

Morning, looks like a beautiful day in the making.
48° at the moment and going up to around 78° they say.
Thinking about dragging the scooter out for a ride.
Enjoying some coffee at the present.

Forcast about the same here today. I like the scooter idea, might do the same. Good therapy after such a wet winter!

Another note of Spring, the ice went out on our lake yesterday. Lots of ducks and geese coming through now.

signs of spring

Post by roddy » Sun Apr 07, 2019 9:20 am

It is a balmy 40 degrees here this morning, and Ang and I had our first 'outside' morning coffee of the season. After I hand-fed the local chickadee population (I've been doing this all winter), and filled the feeder, we saw our first Goldfinch wearing his spring/summer colors. Shortly after that, the pair of Sandhill cranes that made their home in the back yard last year flew in and announced their arrival with their calls (they kind of sound like a big angry turkey). It's a little chilly yet, but spring is here...

Low 40's in N/E Ca. Looks like more rain today. Went out with my partner and hunting dog yesterday looking for predators. Saw a nice group of deer, this time of year they sure like the bitter brush and sage brush.

40's today with rain in forecast. Today was saddle cleaning day. Stripped down my rig, cleaned and oiled it. Check all the gear for wear, replace latigos and straps as required. Re-wrap the horn. Dropping a loop on a big critter and having something break can make for an epic wreck. Don't need that.
Might reload some more bullets later.
