Thanks Forty, my big fluffy cat has been licking my hand the last 1/2 hrs......pets are wonderful...they seem to know...thanks again!

I had a good experience today for a cat person. Had a couple of feral kittens show up in my hay shelter several months ago, they were a little past the bonding with humans age but after feeding and talking to them through the Winter the littlest one, a female, started to trust me enough to have some pets while she was eating and then finally let me hold her and even give me some purrs.
The local pet shelter has a program to spay/neuter feral cats and then release them back where they came from so I took her in last week and got a call a few days later saying that she was probably adoptable. I went by this afternoon to see her and she had been adopted this morning. Talked to a shelter volunteer and she said the kitten was shy but enjoyed being held and petted.
Her brother (I think) was a little different, he had finally let me pet him but was not happy at all when I tried to pick him up. I'll have to get a trap now and take him in to be fixed but I'm pretty sure he will be coming back. He gets along well with my friends outdoor cat and a large older male stray that is very friendly with me but too set in his ways to be a pet. Got him fixed so hopefully he won't be fighting with the other Tomcats in the area anymore and I don't mind feeding them, Costco has some pretty decent inexpensive cat food that they like, just can't leave it out because the skunks and racoons like it too.
