From a functional standpoint, I do like the red dot and I can see where the light on the rail would be useful for some applications. If setting the gun up that way makes it more functional for you, Maht_g, go for it.
I probably would have not had he not asked.

You guys need to read his whole post. It’s not his gun, he was just looking for a reaction. Which he got. As I said before, if you want a “tactical” gun, I think there are other platforms that suit it better than a Henry, but to each his own.

Yeah, I never saw the comments below the picture but I don't think many did. Of course his title was misleading as well. But he did ask what I thought. If you do that then I tend to be honest about what I think.

I wasn’t saying anyone was out of line, just wanted to point out that if you read it all you wouldn’t need to worry about hurting the OP’s feelings by calling it ugly.

Understand, I guess I did feel a bit bad about it though. But if you ask, very often I'll tell you what I think.

LOL! You must have read the "How Old Are You?" thread and seen where our average age falls! Many members looking for those BP meds right about now!

I just hope the owner was able to make that out of parts he already had, and didn't actually go spend real money to end up there!

To each his own!

Yes, it is NOT my gun! I’m very much a traditionalist when it comes to firearms! Revolvers should be six shooters, not 7, and lever guns should be basically just as they came from factory, no matter the brand. I have a Henry big boy and love it as it is, all stock!

It was just a joke, but the gun really belongs to a guy on another forum I’m part of. I thought you guys would enjoy/grimace at what some ppl think is a good idea. To each his own I guess...

I hope I didn’t offend anyone with the post, I was warned by the management about it. All in good fun, wasn’t meant to make anyone mad, just shock value.

Hand grip?! I didn’t even notice it until I read your comment lol. Not sure why anyone would need or want that... or any of it, for that matter

You hit the nerve you were poking at.
There is a picture of 15 or so , I think Rangers, sitting holding their cool new high tech Henry Repeaters. That image shows lever guns were the black rifles of their day.

I don't think resting that thing on a dozen pink range towels could have saved it from the scorn!

We're all just glad it's not yours!

Well, I guess they make tactical bolt rifles.

Careful, someone will decide it's an assault rifle and try to ban it.

Yes, yes sound as though I was right and a bit of patina is in order. LOL

Oh, and it's never to early as it's always late somewhere in the world. But if I find myself ever falling for the tactical lever thingy someone please commit me.
