Got my .45 six shooters out today.......

Post by fortyshooter » Sun Mar 24, 2019 7:27 pm

Beautiful Spring day today and brought out my ol' Ruger .45 New Vaquero and my little Taylor's Uberti Colt for some steel shootin'.
Also "officially" gave a name to the two little creeks that I have to cross to get to my 80 yd. gong target...Ricochet Creek!

Setup my 3 swinging plates along with another plate and the cowboy along with other targets.
Had a great time just plinking the afternoon away!

Great name. Should be a Tom Mix 2 reeler.

Sounds like a fun day.

Thanks RanchRoper!
I forgot to mention I also took along the .45-70 High Wall rifle to test a couple shots and my animal targets are taking a beating from that.
My Ram and Pig target have both had the foot stand blown off after a hit from the .45-70...the pig got it today!
Have to weld them back on.

It looks like a wonderful place to shoot.

Thanks!
Yes it is a nice little place but with the rain we continue to get every few days it can get a bit swampy in some places from the water run off.
My range property is a continuing project of refinement....always something to do but very relaxing when the work is done!
Next project is to build up a dirt backstop behind that gong target to save the trees back there from bullet hits.

Liked the video and the chance to see the running waters of Ricochet Creek.
Very pleasant & peaceful wooded area to shoot at that steel tombstone. :)
