Birds are getting active
Shot a pesky Starling this morning with my Sheridan pump as it was sawing through one of the wifes' suet cakes. Within a couple minutes, a hawk came down and carried it away for me. Wish I had caught on video. Watched it with my Nikon binoculars carry it up to a limb on a tall oak and devour it. Saw another hawk just yesterday also sitting up on a limb, and then another, fly down and mount it right on the back...( ya know what I mean )...pretty interesting to observe raptor love...

I saw a big tom (turkey) in the backyard last week. First time in living here almost 30 yrs.
It was walking around like it lost/dropped something
Got to scope it with the binocs for a couple of minutes from about 100 ft away.
Awesome bird

Re: Birds are getting active
My neighbor is feeding the wild Turkeys that inhabit our woods. I am not this year because we are doing work on my shop and the traffic would keep them away. Anyway, at seven each morning he puts out corn or whatever, and the birds come swooping in. The snow is too deep for them to run, so they fly. Yesterday morning they were roosting in the top of the oak trees above our house but this morning they came swooping over our house from the woods beyond. They roost all the way in the tops of the trees believe it or not, and can fly through the branches with great agility. Right now there are about a dozen in his front yard.

Re: Birds are getting active
I had a good bunch of turkeys running around my range property last year and hope to see them again.
