Morning, yeahup it's still raining here, I guess the one good thang about rain...
Is ya don't have to shovel it.

Bandit, way back when I wore a younger mans clothes.
I was talking to a GF on the phone one evenin, and had a similar experience.
Had a blue streak run up the cord, yea phones used to be attached to the wall by a cord.
Where was I, oh yeah, up the cord and out through the window.
Scared the you know what outa me.
Told her about it and said by.

Never seen lighten when it snowed.

Global Warming my old patush! Warmed up to the twenties so it could snow, and now it's snowing. Supposed to get 8 to 10 inches today and more on the weekend. If this goes as predicted this will be the snowiest feb. in Minnesota history.

I am very tired of plowing snow. We usually take the Motor home and go south this time of year but are staying home due to family problems. Not sure it's doing any good, but we are making the effort to help when we can, but every time it snows I wonder.

The latest winter weather arrived about an hour ago. Snow, to be followed by sleet, then freezing rain. Ugh!

On the other hand, the first Robin of the year also arrived about two minutes ago, drinking from the open water on my backyard pond.

Creatures of Spring during the last gasps of Winter are so very welcomed.

Mags, we don't get much snow here, couple small ones last maybe 3" one time then it was gone within a couple days.
But we so much humidity here that even when it snows it's not dry.
So that's probably why I've never seen it.

One of the cool things about this internet we can talk to each other from all over the country/world and ear of things you almost never see where you live.

Still raining here. The wife's gone after #2 grandson so, gotta wait and see what he wants to play when he gets.

That's a good sign. Most of us have endured pretty harsh winter. Our yard has been full of blue birds as of late! Better days are on the way...

Just spent two and a half hours moving snow. UGH! I've got piles fifteen feet high or more and we're supposed to get more this weekend. Running out of places to pile it.

On the bright side the neighbor lady made me cookies.

Usually like that here in the Tualatin Valley. Any snow is usually stuff occasionally falling out of the sky and 0 accumulation. Otherwise rain, rain rain. In the last 30 years I can only remember twice when we had dry arctic air move in with thunder and lightening. Every once in a while winter we can get 4-5 inches of snow and one year we had 9 inches. Portland further to the east gets more frequent gorge effect snow. The Columbia River gorge can funnel near hurricane force arctic winds from eastern OR/WA into warmer/wetter downtown Portland resulting in heavy snow and ice there. Fortunately the Portland West Hills usually protect the Tualatin Valley from that. Have a good rest of your day with your grandson!

We ended up today with about 8" and dodged most of the ice so far. When I complain about the weather here I think about my brother who lives in Garrett Co. Md. He battles with snow up there and no where around here is even in the ball park. Garrett Co. is a whole other world compared to just it's next county east down off the mountains that are around Grantsville and Oakland. The winter of 2009-2010 they set a new record for snow fall for the season at 262 inches. In 1985 the temperature got down to -36 with a -120 wind chill. I have been to his place the third week in June and the leaves are not all the way out yet. I have heard the growing season in Garrett Co. is the same length as Anchorage, Alaska. I couldn't live up there. So when things get rough here I think about what they are having to deal with up there in his county.

38 and sunny! Maybe 47 later. Going to fire up the wood splitter and bust up some more rounds. Did not quite prep enough to make it through the winter/spring.

Mornin all, well I survived another birthday yesterday' even got to work some, as luck would have it.
But, can you believe it.... yeah it's raining again
and suppose to till tomorrow evening. Oh well.
It is, what it is.
Got a small job to go look at, probably stop by a gun shop over that way, that I haven't visited in a while.
I might find a belated birthday present.

20F today feels like summer. I was going to clean my driveway this morning with snowblower but the wind has done it already. Right down to the gravel. Tea time in the Henry mug and then read some online reloading manuals.

working on my 3rd cup of coffee .... dense fog advisory along the Colorado River in Columbus, TX .... its supposed to get into the mid 60's this afternoon ..... after midnight thunderstorms are supposed to roll through .... no weather related complaints .... we just received an interesting picture from wife's sister-in-law in Estelline, SD .... the first picture shows our site when we were out there last June .... the second picture shows our site as it is today ....

Broken records of rainfall here has everyone I talk to depressed. 1 day some sun next 6...rain. seems like the pattern anymore. Trying to have some work done on weekends by a very good contractor friend. He's trying to work me in on a weekend because he's very busy during the week. That way I pay less...thanks to him.
