RR
You shouldnt need a shell holder with Lee dies. Any of the Lee dies I have bought come with one.

Well done, sir! Please keep us posted!

How available is powder up there? Will you have multiple choices? Unique seems pretty popular for 45 Colt. I've had good results so far...

And Al is right, that Lee die set will come with a shell holder.

But wait - with a turret press, is a shell holder needed for each station?

As I understand it, 1 shell holder and the turret above it rotates...?

Only one shell holder the head that holds the dies should be doing the spinning not the press ram.

Yup.

I think this setup will work for me best. If I can get competent to do a 100 or so rounds in an hour eventually thats good enough.

HS-6 is also a good powder for 45 colt. But Unique is by far probably the most widely used. I have had great luck with Red Dot also RR

Cool. I just did a quick check in my shed...roughly 3000 rounds of 1 time fired brass that I can see right now. Excluding the 5000 or so rounds of new ammo in my cabinet. Shouldn't need brass for awhile...

One thing about it where you are I would think that would help pass some time in the cold months. Maybe the wife would give you a spot in the art room so you would have some company do you think?

A very acheviable goal - and more if you break up your processes. I clean, size (& trim if needed) typically a couple hundred or so of various calibers then store the brass. When I am ready I take out the amount I want to load and prime one evening and the next charge, seat bullets and crimp.

I've never purchased a unit like that. I was always afraid I'd be paying for something I wouldn't use. I do have a Lyman turret press that I really like.

.
The reason why I've chosen to avoid reloading. I did have a friend of mine go through a tutorial of the process with me and it is intriguing/interesting, but with a variety of everything else I don't have the time share/commitment it requires to invest in it.
