+ 9 in Central Oregon, light snow falling but the clouds are thin and looks like we might get some clearing later.

I was hoping this Winter would be mild like last year, plenty of snow but up in the mountains where it belongs. No such luck, we got about 12 inches of snow Friday night and they're saying we may get another 12 inches by tomorrow night. Temps aren't extreme, nighttime low teens, daytime low 20's but it's a big change from the nighttime mid 20's and daytime mid 30's we've been having. They're predicting more of the same for the next couple of weeks.

Haven't needed 4WD much this winter but have been having some problems with my Ranger's auto locking hubs that I was going to take care of later, luckily a local car parts place had replacement manual locking hubs for my Ranger in stock and I was able to get them installed this morning, it wasn't nearly as big a job as I thought it would be,

That's cold, RR. Glad you can find comfort there. The wildlife must be used to it, though I can't help but wonder how they survive temps that are so extreme for so long. Do the deer still show up regularly?

I wish that warm air had made it a bit further north! We got 12” of that white crap on Sunday night and Monday morning. I was 5 hours away visiting my dad and came home to a mess. Tractor still has the mower on, and it’s blade is stuck behind an Airstream that I can’t move easily, so a bit of redneck engineering was done. It was a half beer job. Could have got a full one down, but I knocked it over and spilled half! I’m about to fire up the espresso machine before round two with “the contraption”.

Plowed for two hours yesterday and during the night we got six more inches. Problem is the sides are getting so high now that the plow won't through it high enough. Today I will get out the old 1947 8N with the bucket and blade and start dumping snow over the hill.

At least it's not below zero. About 20 degrees today.

I like your "contraption". Whatever works...Your Runner brings back memories, I had an '86, same color even and set up very similar. That thing was a work horse!

It started snowing here ten minutes ago and the street is already covered. The forecast is for 3" of snow followed by 2" of sleet, followed by overnight rain. Ugh!

We got an unexpected weather warning last night. Heavy rain/snow mix expected today and tomorrow. 'Flood watch' in effect for today and tomorrow. We also had heavy rain and brisk wind overnight. Depth gauge outback below the house reads 1'8".

Also heavy weather coming in and heading across the US. The northern arm is already here. Tons of rain in the TV. Redtheis reports lots of snow at the US/Canada border (see above). Friends near Weed in far northern California are getting up to a foot of snow. The lower blob of weather not on shore yet but looks like it will overrun California and move east across the US preceded by the northern arm across the northern US.

A break from the ice in KCMO.
Late yesterday after a mild warming trend, I was able to break up about 3" of that "not-nice-ice" off my front step. Have some gutter flow issues above the front step that will need fixin' in the spring. Lots of water dumped there from the wintry mix and runoff from the roof.

Today it's 33* at 11am with sun shining. And a new day w/o any severe winter weather alerts!
My Henry mug filled with my double mocha tasted real good this morning.

Yeah, I kind of “markiver’d” it!

I bought the 4Runner as a hunting/fishing rig as my Land Cruiser is too big and heavy for my car trailer to handle when we go on longer road trips. It’s a great little rig. Can’t wait for spring so I can take the top off!

I’m going to fab up a front bumper with a receiver in it so I can just attach the snow plow I made for my small tractor. It’s very light weight, but it’s all we need here. Even getting an inch of snow is fairly rare, and when it does come, it only stays a day or two. We do get a big dump like this every 2-3 years though, so I like to be able to deal with it.
