Thankyou, Im fine
Im 1200miles south and son isnt in any danger. He is stationed in townsville with the army and living in barracks that are at the top of a hill. No chance he will loose anything.
They are probably quite lucky as the army has been throwing men where every they are needed to help the public since friday.
They are also lucky that there is a amphibious battalion stationed there who have been helping with rescues etc.

Edit: You might see some of the video footage he has been taking, CNN asked permission to use some of it.

Morning all, 56° in the panhandle this morning.
Headed back to Tn here in a bit, got to pick up some lead before I leave.
A buddy to the guy's house I've been working on is giving it to me. Said he doesn't plan on casting anymore.
Can't turn down free lead.
So a plus for me :P

A lot of the Midwest, including KCMO, is heading for another wintry week of "snow, ice, and wind."
Definitely, "the ice is not nice!" :|

Snow melting all over. Rain coming later in the week.

Coffee in the John Deere mug.

Got some running around to do on a weekday off. Probably head to Runnings to get a gear sled for Ice fishing.

37. Not likely to get much warmer today. Rain/snow mix not here yet. Places on the coast and in the coast range got beach/mountain snow overnight.

We had a sustained period of freezing mist/drizzle last night. There's a coating of about 1/8" of ice on everything. Fortunately, it wasn't enough to be an ice storm, and do a lot of damage.

Was through Chemult and points south last week. Several old inches of snow still then in under the trees. About 3.5 to 4' roadside at the summit on 58.

Just reading a post from a woman just outside Townsville, since the rain event started in northern Australia about 10 days ago she has tipped 96" out of the rain gauge. Yep that isnt a misprint 8 feet of rain in 10 days.
The average yearly rainfall for Townsville is around 40" when they talk about catastrophic flooding or once in a 100 year flood it is these sort of events that cause them.

going to be in the low 70's later on today.

18. Got maybe an inch of snow. Just enough to cover everything. Maybe 39 later. Coffee today instead of tea.

Good spot to post current KCMO conditions...right after JEBar's 78* forecast and his AC story.

24* at noon, been lightly drizzling latter half of the morning.
The front door stoop, the driveway, and the street all carry a nice shine as layer of ice is forming.

Stayin' inside, and drinking my double mocha out of my Henry mug.
