January 20th, 1860

Post by RanchRoper » Sun Jan 20, 2019 4:21 pm

32F today with just a slight breeze. A great day to shoot my Henry 1860 rifle. Some 50 yard work today. Shooting 250 gr Wolf LFN reloads. Pretty consistent ammo & price is right too. 24 rounds on 1 target, and 14 on another. I have a few boxes with odd numbers in them as sometimes I just shoot a few rounds and call it quits with either pistol or rifle. Depends on my sore rotator cuff shoulder...

Anyhow,

2 targets, both 50 yds off hand standing today

I found one of my bullets in the dirt behind the target board. Don't find them often, but got one today. 250 gr lead after it grenades through the plywood.

Doesn't get much better than that, RR, either your shooting or your photography.

Right, now, I'd take double digits temps of any kind, above zero. Your report warms me up, though. Thanks.

As usual, just some fantastic looking targets, RR. Thanks for sharing them!

Definitely a good eye and steady hand. That splattered bullet would make an interesting piece of jewelry.
