Been Out of Pocket

Post by Shakey Jake » Fri Dec 28, 2018 4:16 pm

I've been out of town for a bit. My mom's husband had to be lifeflighted to Tulsa after a major heart attack Dec 16. Mom phoned and I drove to Bartlesville on the 17th. The hospital kept him on life support until Tuesday when the doctors decided that there was nothing left to do as he didn't seem to have any cognitive brain activity. He expired early Wednesday morning shortly after they removed life support. Due to the holiday and other issues the service couldn't be held until Wednesday Dec. 26th. I think I got most everything taken care of for mom while I was there. She's going to try and stay at the home. There's good neighbors there to help if she needs it. I got back in town yesterday and hope to get caught up on things slowly. I know my yearly range pass expired on the 23rd so I need to get out there to renew. Hope everyone had a great holiday!

My sympathy and prayers to you, your Mom, and entire family.
Trust all will be well as your Mom tries to stay at home.
Lots of phone calls and your care will be the best help!

Take care, Jake.
God bless.

Sorry to hear this. I had an Uncle that was killed in a Christmas Eve airplane accident many, many, years ago. 59 to be exact. I think of him a lot this time of year as I was named after him. Tough to lose a loved one during Christmas. Thoughts and prayers to your family.

Well, I'm back on the forum....again. My father-in-law passed New Year's day shortly after 2 p.m. He's been in bad health so it wasn't totally unexpected but nevertheless it hasn't been that great of a holiday season this year. It surely will get better.

Sorry about your loss. Yes, I agree. It will get better. I loss me parents during the holidays in 2016 (December 17 and 18). We were excepting mother. But, father was a surprise. I just keep in mind that they are better off now and try to make the most of the foundation that they laid. May God bless you and yours.
