Good question on the triggers. It's not two triggers in the sense of two triggers on, say, a double barrel shotgun. It's a set trigger. This version of a set trigger uses two triggers. Other versions of a set trigger, such as the CZ 527 bolt guns, use one trigger, but the one trigger has two different positions you can use for a heavier or lighter pull weight.

And that's the function of a set trigger. A set trigger great reduces trigger pull weight. This can be an asset for accuracy work. Typically on a two trigger set trigger, you pull the heavier rear trigger, which then sets the front trigger to a very light pull. Gently touching the front trigger then fires the gun. Definitely works to provide a superb trigger, but for hunting, especially with cold fingers, it can sometimes be too much of a good thing. Then, too, pulling the rear trigger to set the front can be a little noisy and spook game up close. Another reason some hunters prefer a standard single trigger.

That helps a lot. Since my trigger finger is minus the top joint and fingertip due to a roping mishap years ago, I don't have the fine control maybe needed for the 2 trigger setup. Might set it off unknowingly with cold hands as you suggest. That said, perhaps the single trigger would be better for me.

Don't know about the big bucks part, but glad to help.

I've used a variety of competition triggers over the years, from various set triggers to two stage triggers that measure in ounces of pull weight. Some of them require a very delicate touch to operate, properly, to the point of actually having to work your sight picture and trigger routine around them. Not always the best choice for casual shooting or hunting, as I've mentioned.

Since I mentioned two stage triggers, here, I should explain that this is another type of target trigger with a long pull of the trigger before you meet any resistance, at which point the trigger fires with merely ounces of pull weight. Having that long travel before any resistance is actually a good thing, because a trigger with only ounces of pull weight and no pre-travel is actually difficult to even touch without tripping the trigger.

My old Anschutz Exemplar 22 LR Silhouette pistol is such a gun. Comes factory set at 8 ounces of pull weight, but you can safely go down to half of that via an adjustment screw. Trust me, when a trigger gets this light, it is almost impossible to touch without setting off the trigger if you didn't have that long first stage with pre-travel.

Amazing gun, quite unlike any other in our collection. Usually wears a scope. Would shoot it more, but it's not the kind of gun and trigger you want to shoot back and forth with conventional guns with conventional triggers.

Your chats have answered my Q re. two triggers...thanks! On the Stoeger 20ga SxS Coach gun I had there were two triggers, one for each barrel. So that point of reference didn't help me understand the rifle config. Function of the second rifle trigger makes sense now.

Although I don't have the type of injury you have on your trigger finger, RR, I would opt for a single trigger. Less and simpler seems to always work better for me. One thing I recall on the SxS was my trigger finger "stumbling" around when I tried to change triggers. Actually did not like that very much. Of course, different trigger pulls for different folk.

Looking forward to 2019 to see if you do acquire a second rifle. That will challenge you with learning a new gun, and probably create more interesting Range Reports and rifle discussions, as well.
