Our Morning Coffee and Weather

Winds have dies off. Should be shorts weather today. Well, Short and long sleeves!
We've been grinding our own coffee beans - I don't think I'll ever go back to to the other kind.
We also bought a juicer - still experimenting with it...trying to come up with a once-a-day meal replacement that is healthy and good for us. I thought lemons, limes and tequila would be OK, but I got voted down. Now I get kale, celery, orange, and other things that are kinda tasteless (tequila would help!).
Getting old is no fun.

Rough night here. Heavy rain and wind gusts 50-55. All night Doug Fir swaying in the wind knocking/thumping/drumming into each other. Branches and cones bouncing off the roof. For all the racket only had one tree, an Alder, break off and crash down. Calm and sunny at the moment.

Much to warm for my liking, we might get a few days a year that top 110 but not the constant high temps they get in the north west. Not unusual for them to get a 30 or more consecutive days with temps above 95. I think the record if well over 50 consecutive days above 95.

You do acclimatise to a degree, I spent a little time working in the NW of the state in summer. Remember we had a big storm go through and the temp dropped from 100+ to low 80's for a few days. Everyone was getting around with jackets on.

I lived in Tucson for a while - people would get their jackets out when it got down to 70!

Personally I think hemorrhoids and snow have a lot in common - I don't miss either.

I do enjoy my fresh ground coffee when Its a cool 53 in the morning.

Saw the same while living a temporary stint near San Diego. We'd go out to the SD Wild Animal park in Tees and Shorts and chuckle at the locals wearing light parkas.

I lived in Tucson for a while - people would get their jackets out when it got down to 70!

It is so dark here at 10:07 am the dusk to dawn porch light is still on.

Very windy and getting windier. Gusts are about 45 mph and the wind is coming from the north. Very unusual because winds from the north are always slow, cold and dry. This warm wet wind should be coming from the southwest.

Wow, there too? We are running on the generator as of 3:00 today. In the area around me (Vancouver area) BC Hydro is showing 873 separate outages. Mine alone has 3000+/- households without power. We have had sustained winds of 70-90 and gusts over 100!

Some dumbass went out on the Whiterock Pier to check out the storm, and had to find a creative way home! I’m not sure I’d want to get winched up in the winds we’ve had today! I’ve lived through one multi fatality helicopter crash before, don’t care to repeat that event!
