Our Morning Coffee and Weather

32 this morning and a light dusting of snow overnight. Had about a 1/2 " of wet snow yesterday morning but it warmed up and started raining.

It's cold, in the low 30s, and started raining, with some light sleet this morning. The Heavy rain started the seasonal creek flowing early on and it's really running now. Took a ride around the property to do a security check and there are places I couldn't reach as I couldn't get across the "dry" bed.

Ah, enjoyed an evening Henry mug filled with my double mocha.
And just finished the local weather report on the news. First time a "blizzard warning" with whiteout conditions has been predicted since January 2011. Looking for it to happen during most of the day tomorrow. So glad for those working folk in KC area that it's predicated over the weekend!

Pretty dry here for this time of year. All snow is gone, and temps are around 30F daytime and 20F at night. No real sub zero stuff forecasted in to the new year.

The Blizzard Warning made good on its promise here in KC. Pretty much snowed for 8-10 hours, depending on what part of town one was in. Blowing about 35-40 mph all day. Schools closed tomorrow metro-wide. First time we've had one like this in years, and really very rare for this early in the season in KC.

one of my wife's nieces and her family live in the KC area ..... she says such a storm is a first for this time of year in her area .... one of our sons and his family arrived in Chicago yesterday where he will be attending a conference for the coming week .... looks like they are in for a rough few days

It's 10pm here and there's a storm warning. They are calling for 7-11 inches possibly. After work coffee, and wet heavy snow now.

one long standing law of our universe is, the more certain our plans become, the quicker they change .. .. yesterday's weather forecast called for up to 70% chance of rain .. .. based on that I figured the installer from RV Armor wouldn't be here to finish replacing our camper's roof until tomorrow .. .. we awoke this morning to a 10% chance of rain at 10AM (their customary starting time) and the chance falling to 0% by 3PM .. .. with that, my hope is, they will be back and finish today .... second cup of coffee out of a Henry mug as I wait to see how things will go together

Good morning it's 45 outside. Supposed to get up to high 60's or so. Workin' on my 2nd cup of coffee. Still not enough caffeine. Plus is Monday.

Greeted by temps in the upper teens this morning, and white everywhere outside. The blue sky with brightly shining sun sure makes the landscape dazzling and glistening against the snow.

Wow! First significant snowfall this season came as a "winter blizzard with white-out conditions." With winds yesterday at +40mph, I could barely see my garage, which is only 40 yards from my patio. I see approximately six inches in my patio area, which is protected by a fence. The sparrows were quite happy to have me clear off their bird feeder and serve breakfast!

I saw national news interviews held at our local KCI airport last evening. Sure was a surprise weather event as the Thanksgiving weekend travelers were trying to return home. Next is the big thaw and melt away

PT7 - That is EXACTLY why I moved to South Texas.
I don't do well in cold air. Lived in St. Louis a couple of years, on a one-way uphill street. Snow is pretty for winter events, but not so much for everyday living.
Weatherman says 74 today and 80 on Thursday. We pay for it in June.
Hope you come through it OK. Having a big cup this morning - have business down on the border and its a three hour drive.

got up a good bit earlier than usual and have lost count of the cups of coffee this morning in a (cheap ) clear glass mug like the ones often used in motel conference rooms .. .. just got a call from the fellows who are installing a new roof on our camper .... they will be here in about 30 minutes, they plan is to complete the roof today .. .. even with our temp in the upper 40's, the current prediction of no ran until late Friday or Saturday, will give it considerably more time to cure than is required .... good news indeed ..

We got a pineapple express last night. Tropical air came in raising the temp from the mid 40's to the mid 50's in about an hour. Then we had wind and rain all night. 52 now. Maybe 56 later today.

25F this morning with light snow. Should get about 3" today. Tea in the Henry mug. Just changed out my truck headlights and foglights yesterday to LED's...nice! Now maybe I can see those elk in the ditches before they amble across the road....
