I had fun Sunday at the Stock/Super Stock drag races even though my best friend/wife had to work and sit this one out. Lots of cars there in the class and I got a few pictures before my batteries died in my camera and had no spares with me. I don't know how many here have an interest in nostalgia drag racing or Stock/Super Stock that has some newer cars in the class but for me it is tied with fire arms and shooting. If money wasn't an issue I would still be drag racing today. Just can't get it out of my system. First is a '55 Chevy(one of my favorite Chevy's,prefer the '56) runs SS/NA and held the national record for it's class for years. High rpm 265 cu.in. engine. Was running 11.70's yesterday. The other lane is a beautiful B/SA max-wedge '63 Dodge. Legal NHRA BS/A class car running 10.18 yesterday. The conditions were excellent for engines to make good horse power. The conditions were so good for air quality that it was like running at 700' below sea level.

Chevy Nova paired with a Dodge Daytona. I can't remember the Chevy's time but it was in the 10's. Remember the Dodge was one of the fastest S/S cars there with an E.T. in the 8.70's.

Altered wheel base Hemi '65 Dodge from the days of altered wheel base cars in the mid '60's that driver Dick Landy and others made popular for a while. Sometimes referred to as the original funny cars because of their looks with the alterd wheel base.

Real pretty Buick. Very nice car.

Friend doing a nice burn out to heat the slicks up in the '63 Dodge Max-Wedge.

I have a few more to post if any one wants to see them.
