I’m on a short three night trip to Fort Worden State Park near Port Townsend, WA.

Back in the mid-90s my wife and I vacationed for two weeks in Port Townsend. Very nice vacation area. Enjoyed our visit and hiking the grounds of Fort Worden, too.

Of course, my wife loved walking through Port Townsend with its cool shops on Water Street. I found a used book store, and she got me a very hard-to-find collection of books by a terrific author I liked. And our vacation treat to ourselves was to order a custom, hand-made double hammock at one of those shops --- think the shop has moved away from that town now. We ordered it, and they agreed to hold it until we returned to KS and measured the distance between the two large maple trees in our side yard. Sent them the measurement, and they made a perfect length hammock to fit there. Used it for years.
