just watched the Xfinity race a Charlotte .... just to be clear up front I'm not a fan of road course racing .... if this is race is any example of things to come, they have ruined one of the best ovals on the NASCAR circuit .... it wasn't racing, it was following the leader .... only ONE lead change in the first stage when the leader spun out on his own .... a total of FOUR lead changes during the entire race .... about as much excitement as watching a merry-go-round

To me the road course would be the most fun as a driver, but
as a spectator, they are as boring as watching golf.

1 lap = 2.28 miles

109 laps = 248.52 mile race

2 different leaders, 1 lead change by the end of stage 1

8 different leaders, 10 lead changes during the entire race (most in the last few laps)

2 lead changes by racing

hate it for the 78 & 48 .... all but the last 10 or so laps were a sleeper

I kinda liked today's race. Something different.

I have been a fan of NASCAR for as long as I can remember. I am not a big fan of the stage racing, it will sooner or later get someone hurt bad the way they race now. The playoffs are not all that bad but I see the stands are no longer full so I guess many of the fans are not so into what NASCAR is now doing.

I wrote a post last night, but not sure what happened to it.

I was saying that for someone who's not a fan of Road Racing, I thought it was a pretty good race. Although I would still rather have the old Charlotte.

Jimmie Johnson went from Hero to Zero pretty quick.

Truex would have won if Jimmie didn't tag him late in the spin.

Some pretty good finishes for some of the shoe-string teams.

Ryan Blaney won as mentioned above.

Good to see Jamie Mac finish at 2nd.

Should have put a post up earlier to let you all know today was the biggest race of the year for our Aussie V8 supercars.
It has been a few years since they raced in the USA but I wouldn't be surprised if they are back over there within a few years. This year is the last for the Aussie Falcon with the ford teams switching to mustangs next year, some of the GM teams are talking about running Camaros in 2020.
Both Roger Penske and Michael Andretti are part owners of teams and have been out here all week.
