Interesting on the same day back in April we had the announcement ford would officially return to our Aussie V8 supercar championship with the Mustang in 2019, still waiting for the first pictures of cars but here are some renderings of what they should look like in supercar trim.

Probably hoping to bring some fan base back to the Nascar series. If they could kick the France people to the curb maybe things would change for the better.

per Jayski ===> Furniture Row Racing is discussing a possible deal with NASCAR Xfinity/Truck series team GMS Racing that, if completed, would see FRR Owner Barney Visser sell FRR's assets to GMS. Sources said that the No. 78 Toyota will be running again in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in '19, but it was unclear whether GMS would buy FRR's charter and assets right away or whether the two could form an alliance in '19 before GMS acquires the charter in '20. Sources said the deal was still being worked on and not yet completed. If it was consummated, it would find a way for Visser to keep the No. 78 operation going, as GMS Owner Maury Gallagher's Allegiant Airlines could become a primary sponsor for the car. Both teams declined comment.

UPDATE 8-29-2018: With the GMS talks having apparently collapsed, sources said that another possible option for Truex that has now opened up is for him to go to Joe Gibbs Racing. That possibility could see Truex move into JGR's No. 19 Toyota, while JGR could send rising Mexican star Daniel Suarez to Leavine Family Racing's No. 95 Toyota. FRR, JGR and LFR had no comment on that possibility.

the following is per NASCAR's website ===> Ryan Newman announced via Twitter on Saturday afternoon that he would not return to Richard Childress Racing after the 2018 season.

The veteran driver, who is in his fifth season with RCR, says his intention is to compete full time in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in 2019, but he is not ready to announce his plans yet.

AJ Allmendinger, who delivered JTG Daugherty’s first team win in a Watkins Glen thriller back in 2014, will not return to the No. 47 Chevrolet next year, the team has announced.

Allmendinger has driven the No. 47 for the Tad Geschickter-owned team since late in the 2013 season. His masterful win at The Glen was the highlight, with the dramatic victory qualifying the team for the postseason.

no clue who is on tap to take his place

Hailie Deegan won her first NASCAR race on Saturday, and in doing so also became the first female to win a K&N Pro Series race.

there have been others at various levels of NASCAR ..... the first I remember at the cup level was in the 1976 World 600 .... Janet Guthrie finished 15th (ahead of the 3 car) .... she was the first woman to compete in a NASCAR Winston Cup superspeedway race .... Danica made it marketable .... if her driving skill had of matched her marketing skills, she'd still be in the sport .... sooner or later there will be a female driver who can
