Naw, I think it's more like when we get older we obsess about health issues, as they become a much larger part of our lives. To cope, we try and find humor where we can when dealing with the inevitable medical procedures that have to be endured.

I just bought tickets to see Joe Walsh and others at the Vets Aid concert on Nov 11. I was going to go see him with Tom Petty last year but at over $300 per ticket, I passed. Now Tom has passed. Not going to miss another chance to see some of these guys. None of us are getting any younger (I hit 50 last week on the 7th, so I’m older than some, but apparently on the younger side here).

Reading the newspaper and I saw a photos of Peter Frampton, Steve Miller and Jimmy Vaughn playing their guitars ...now I feel really old.

Not long ago, my daughter expressed an interest in learning to play the bass. She figured I could teach her since I used to.
We got talking about the different playing styles and what she'd like to focus on; so I started pulling up Youtube videos of some rock bands I like to listen to in order to give her some idea of what to expect.

Started with AC/DC, since Cliff Williams' style is closest to how I play.
Then it was on to ZZ Top. She got a kick out of the beards.
Then I showed her a video of Rush playing YYZ. I told her not to even try to keep up with what Geddy Lee was doing.

After we got done, she said, "Dad, how come all the guys you listen to are really old??"



"Go ask your mother when dinner's gonna be ready."
