Hello from California

Post by BigNick » Wed Aug 01, 2018 5:49 pm

My name is Nick. Live in the high desert of California. I bought a Henry Big Boy in .45 Colt about a week ago. I love this thing! I took out to the range and my buddies and I have been havin so much fun shooting in the desert with it. We call it "Big Jim." I was going through my tacticool phase for a while, decided to switch things up, and bring this beaut with some vaqueros out, and all the sudden range day had a whole new feel to it. In all honestly, it reminded me of when my brother and I would shoot our daisy and Red Ryder bb guns in the back yard. I gotta say, this was a good life choice!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new Henry!
I made a similar change to my firearms collection, and I'm with you. Got the Big Boy Steel .357 and felt like a kid again. Then jumped on a Small Game Carbine .22 and felt like a bigger kid. They're kind of addictive.
Lots of VERY experienced, knowledgeable people here (not including me), so don't be afraid to ask any questions.
They're very patient and giving of their expertise.
Again, welcome aboard! And, POST a PIC!

I've used reloads for my vaqueros before, and plan on doing so with the rifle. I'm trying like the Dickens to have some fun before the school year starts (second grade teacher) and it's coming up fast. So I want to crank out some of my reloads and see how the do in comparison to factory stuff. The Henry has only seen the HSM cowboy loads, so I'm really eager to see how some different ammo feels and behaves in the rifle.

I will most definitely add to the total, that is such a cool idea, kudos to that one!
