I got one of those. But, mine came with a scope. I am just breaking it in. It fact, I shot a few rounds through it yesterday. I am trying to get use to the trigger. It seems like it is getting smoother. I have shot about 270 rounds through it now. I enjoy shooting it. But, I use a slip on pad while using the bench. I think it is fairly accurate. Maybe, more accurate than I am shooting it. So far, I seem to shoot Winchesters the best in it. I like to be able to shoot at least a 2" group at 100 yards. While I was zeroing the scope, I shot about 2 3/4" group. I figure I should be able to shoot a smaller group as the trigger wears in. Congratulations and have fun!

Well darn... I saw your .30-30 addition and was anticipating you got a Henry like mine. Just the same, you got yourself a sharp looking rifle. Please don't wait for a scope to shoot it. Shoot it open-sight and tell us the story!

Yep - passed on many a nice Marlin 36/336 over the years and then just today a beautiful 1984 336 came up for sale near Portland for $275! Again I try to find a 'work reason' to need to head that way for a day but no reason to go currently!

The price is not bad. I have noticed some older Marlins priced as collectibles. I typically buy a gun to shoot not collect. But, to each their own.

It’s quite good actually - even for a crossbolt safety model but it is a true JM Marlin.
It would already be in my hands if I were closer!

I saw the new ones are on sale right now at my LGS. $399 marked down from $529. Im saving for another Henry and trying to not get distracted :)
Nice gun though! My shooting buddy had one and it shoots well.

Very nice-looking wood furniture on your new rifle -- great shades of color! Really makes the rifle look quite classy.
