We get 6 months minimum of winter. Lots of snow. Had 12 ft drifts last winter.

Ah, that looks so very cool and inviting against the 100* outside here.
Much too easy to see the blazing sun shimmering off the baking car tops!

Awesome! Looks like you don't even need to use steps getting on/off your deck.

Working on inside and a coat of stain on outside. Log walls to be finished on inside yet. Then railings and new roof steel over the whole thing, closed and open sections. We are already enjoying it in the evenings.

I have a local guy doing it. I would rather ride horses... :)

Not insulated. Strictly a 3 season deck. Its open both ends so insulation would not do much.

Nice. Glad to see you have your priorities right. :D

That is a sweet deck. I can see you sitting back, relaxing with the morning tea and evening adult beverage, enjoying the view after a day of riding fence.

I sure admire folks who have the skill to do such work .... I most certainly don't .... I was wondering what (if anything) you were going to do with the openings .... if you should change your mind down the road, it shouldn't be too difficult to have it modified for season use

Years ago I stripped off all the vinyl siding and did the whole house in 1/2 log siding. House is warmer in winter and cooler in summer. That was a project but worth it. But I've not built a deck before and this one reused an existing roof section, so I hired a guy. I would have taken all summer to do what he did in 2 weeks. Worth the dough.

There will be a little old fashioned looking electric woodstove/heater going where the red chair is eventually, just enough to take the chill off in the late fall when sitting outside. Like sitting around a campfire but up on the deck.... :D

Back deck starting to take shape. Temporary stairs from old deck. Safety railing too by back door. What a mess right now. Thats the demolished old deck in a pile behind.
No roof on this one.

Another great looking deck add-on. Will you be shoveling the snow off?
