When it comes to venom lethality I think we have pretty much everything in the top 10 here in Aus, fierce snake is capable of killing over 1 million mice even the common brown snake that is everywhere about 200,000.
Came home one evening over summer and found a small brown dead on the back verandah where my little terrier had dropped it to let me know what he had been up to for the day.
Despite their venom lethality our death rate per head of population is much lower than places like USA India and Africa. Most of the aus snakes are quite timid and prefer to move away from a confrontation. Even when stepped on the first strike is often dry giving people a chance to move away.
While we have the most venomous when you take into account the snakes behaviour they really aren't the deadliest in the world.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.
