This song brings tears to my wife and myself. This was performed in D.C. at the Memorial Day ceremony by this young Pittsburgh girl. Jackie was only about two weeks shy of her 14th birthday. This is hard for some folks to watch but it is a reminder of what our Memorial Day is all about. I think she done a fantastic job with this.

This one is a happier song done by Jackie at age 9. This girl is incredible with her singing. This is a baby boomer tune from the past. I can still remember when Kathy Young done this one. Hope this makes up for any tears with the first one.

"O Mio Babbino Caro" from the opera Gianni Schicchi by Puccini. Aria about a girl asking her dear father to allow her to marry her beau. She says that if her father does not allow her to marry she will go to the Ponte Vecchio and throw herself off the bridge. What's a father to do!!??

Any rendition of "Shenendoah". Early American trapper and trader wants to marry an Indian princess with whom he is deeply in love. But knowing his way of life he is destined to one day leave " 'cross the wide Missouri." Very moving.

Check out Amira's verson of " Mio Babbino" when she was nine years old. I cried along with the audience the first time I view it.
" Shenendoah" all time favorite. Sang it many times in our a Capella group in HS.

Here is a nice rendition of Shenandoah by a lady from Norway not well known in our country. She has a great voice. Easy on the eyes to. ;) :)

^ Heh! Good call!! Sissel's version is the one I was thinking of when I posted my comments! It's on my playlist rotation in my car. I particularly like the piccolo accompaniment.

Beautiful rendition of this haunting song. Thanks much for sharing it, Bandit.

I "cross the wide Missouri" River any number of times each month as I travel between MO and KS. Always "look away" as I drive over it, and very much enjoy the view. Will surely remember this song more often now. :)

Wow, as fast has boys seem to grow up, girls grow up quicker. Her parents watching this must be thinking, "A few months ago she was a child".

Yeah, I thought it was me until I saw that. George Strait can hold his head high that he's been kicked out of "country" :D
