Re: The Weather Channel
That little stove heats the whole house. We have a gas furnace too but burn lots of wood instead. It's a nice heat, really warms you up when it's damp and cold.

Re: The Weather Channel
I tend to keep the hole house chilly and only turn on the gas fireplace insert to warm up one room. If I get chilled I'll stand in front of it for a few minutes.

Re: The Weather Channel
The woodstove is difficult to regulate the heat. If you find yourself falling asleep after supper it's likely because it's 90F in the house! Have to open windows in winter sometimes.

Our second home in Ephrata has a fireplace with a built-in heatilator. I love getting up there on a cold winter morning and building a fire.RanchRoper wrote:The woodstove is difficult to regulate the heat. Re: The Weather Channel
It's starting to get humid here. It's supposed to get to 83* today, with rain coming in for tomorrow. I hate humidity. But I guess you guys down south are used to it or tolerate it better. My wife is from the eastern shore of Maryland where it is hot and humid in Dorchester County all summer long because they are below sea level, so I am told. The same in some other counties there also. But I really like the people there and all the boating, crabbing and waterfowl hunting that I used to do there. I have good memories from there, sitting in the little country bars, drinking a cold Pabst and listening to country music on the juke box. That was mostly back in the '70's and the summer of 1967 when I used to come up from Norfolk to visit for the weekend. We don't get down there very often anymore. Today I worked up a good sweat washing the car and working in the yard. Now, for a nice cold bottle of GATORADE. (Lemon-Lime)

Ranch Roper, how many Remington statues do you have? I've seen a couple in the backgrounds of your photographs.
I really like his sculptures. I've been to his museum in Ogdensburg NY. It's amazing.
