that does sound like fun .... I'd love to fire it but realistically, doubt I'd get a single hit .... that's a very different world from the 100 yard ranges we have around home

I built this high wall in 40-60 Maynard which was a sniper round in the Civil War , cut and designed this 400 gr bullet mold for the 1000 yds shoot . I used the 30-40 Krag brass and blew it out to 40 cal to make 40-60 maynard or 40 krag for that match . I never made it up there to the match .

The Quigley is on my SHORT bucket list! A couple of years ago, I placed an ordered with C. Sharps, to build my 1874 Hartford Sharps in 45-70. My two favorite all time rifles are my Sharps and Henry.

I do love the looks and all the romance and history of the Sharps, not to mention it is a single shot rifle and I am a huge fan of classic single shots. Problem for little old me is that there is no way I can physically lift one of those beasts into position for offhand work. Even just to transport the rifle, I'd have to have Quigley carry it for me (now that would be nice ).

That could happen. A friend of mine, has a chuckwagon in Roundup, Montana. He and I have talked about going to Quigley. He's been there before. I bet it wouldn't take much to talk him into bringing his wagon. That would be the perfect base camp. I'll bring the Arbuckles'

That does sound like a good time. I would love to add a Quigley to my collection, but I don't have the range (distance) to learn to shoot it well, nor a fellow shooter in the area for a mentor. Guess I need to move way out west. I could always go to the match for the fun of it. If we get out that way one year.
