Its Taken A While

Post by JEBar » Thu Apr 19, 2018 5:20 pm

well over 10 years ago I came down with Atrial Fibrillation (AF or AFib) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atrial_fibrillation and Atrial flutter (AFL) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atrial_flutter .. .. I was told that it was caused by having sleep apnea and catching the flu .... during that time I've experienced a number of anticipated and unanticipated ups and downs, actually more than I care to remember .. :? .. that includes multiple hospitalizations, a number of changes in medications which would work for a while .... in addition, one trip to the hospital where they used Electrical cardioversion to shock my heart back in rhythm .... that lasted about a week .... in late December 2016 I spent a few days at Duke University Medical Center following a little over 6 hours of what they called a radio frequency ablation. http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Condit...p#.WNrf7sm1vIU .... earlier today, during a regular appoint with my Cardiologist, we got some really good news .. :) .. I've been on them so long that I find it a bit hard to believe that, unless something negative should develop, I'm off all cardiac meds .. :D .. that includes all blood thinning and blood pressure meds .... I go back in a little over a month for some regular testing and to make sure that things are going as anticipated without the meds .... talk about a relief ..

That's awesome news, Jim. You may even be shouldering a 12 gauge shotgun again before long! Live long and prosper... without bruising.

I was just sitting here thinking about all of the upgrades I've made rifles and shotguns to reduce felt recoil .... its been a couple of decades since fired anything with harsh recoil .... at 71 years old, I have no clue how harsh I'd find to be too harsh

That is great news on your medical check up, Jim! :*)

I've been on my cardiac regimen since 2001, and probably would feel odd not taking those meds every day. Really glad for you to get such long-awaited relief.

Onward, and trust this adjust will settle in for you just fine.
Take good care.

Good to hear my friend. Going off meds is good for us. I hope you continue with your success!

I am off blood pressure meds and cut the cholesterol meds in half since losing 100 lbs.
