Did something happen while I have been

Post by Catherine » Sat Apr 23, 2016 10:43 pm

off the forum due to my very bad back and leg pain this week?

There are some notes about spammers in my PM box.

I have trouble sitting and standing worse off lying FLAT in bed.

I will come back to check this out later on or have my husband check it for me.

Thank you.

The spammers did not attack my email and I don't know about my WIFI THING since that is supposed to have protection on it.

This old computer is dying so I will use my husband's if need be.

Later...

Cate

Take care of yourself and get better Cate. We will take care of the spammers.

Have you considered yoga for your back and leg pain?
I had issues with my back for twenty years. The last time my back went out on me required a ride in an ambulance. I joined a gym once I was able to walk again and began taking yoga classes. I still have to pay attention to my back when it begins to tighten up. But I have been pain free for 5 years.
My experience with yoga led me to become a teacher two years ago.

I was having back pain and then lost 40 pounds. My pain ended up going away.

I was having back pain and it turned out to be severe stenosis complicated by a slipped disc. Four years after spinal surgery, I still have back pain. But the surgery was successful and I can now stand and walk and do almost everything I used to; but never without pain. I have and use a TENS device that helps to tolerate it.

It's weird science, but proven to be effective, and it does help me quite a bit. My device was prescribed by a Dr. specializing in pain management, who didn't easily subscribe to narcotic therapies. I liked the alternative.

It's a good thing. I do have constant back pain from stenosis. It doesn't eliminate it, but it does relieve the worst of it. It might also have it's own, habit forming qualities, so I'm careful to follow guidelines for best practices. It works.

I used a tens on my elbows several years ago. Back when I used to swing the framing hammer all day . It helped a little but not greatly.

TENS= transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.

It's a device you wear that controls pain by giving you little electric shocks. Not sure why it works, but many people swear by them.

I just ordered an inversion table. I've basically always wanted one, finally broke down and purchased.

I don't have back problems, neck gets a little stiff. I just want to invert and crack my back and stretch out................

I had TENS with therapy after knee replacement. I wasn't too impressed with the effectiveness but figured it was included with insurance. They only paid the first month. It was on my tab for the second month. At $65 per treatment I told them to hold off. Another unexpected expense. Could've paid for a Henry original. Shocking!
