NC man tries to pay bond with counterfeit money, has bond raised

Post by JEBar » Sat Apr 23, 2016 9:23 am

for me this falls in the "Say What ?" column :

"GREENSBORO, N.C. (WXII) — Authorities said a man tried to pay a $200 bond with counterfeit money, resulting in additional charges.

Greensboro Police said Jarious Treymayne Mock was arrested Thursday after an officer on bike patrol saw him intoxicated and disruptive on South Elm Street.

As the officer was writing a citation for Mock, it was learned that he had an active warrant for failure to appear in court in June 2015.

He was taken to the Guilford County Jail, where a magistrate set a bond of $200.

“As he was producing the cash, he offered a $100 that was obviously counterfeit,” police said in a news release. “An additional counterfeit bill was discovered.”

Mock was then charged with forgery, and his bond was changed to $2,000, police said."

It seems his attempt to make a Mock...ery of the justice system was futile.

I retired after 30+ years of working in NC's Prison System ... don't recognize him but have worked with many who appear to share similarities
