Hello from North Carolina

Post by Greg_R » Mon Mar 26, 2018 7:32 pm

Not a Henry owner. At least not yet, anyways. I am a huge fan of the break barrel single shot rifle. Always wanted a T/C Contender rifle. Could not afford them, so I settled for the H&R/NEF Handi Rifle.

I have been waiting for the Henry single shot in 308 to show up in my neck of the woods. I think it would serve me well. The only complaints I have heard about the Henry single shot is they tend to have heavy triggers, around 7 pounds.

Also looking at the T/C Contender G2. I can get one with a 6.5 Grendel barrel. Cost about twice again what the contender would cost. I could save a hundred dollars by going with a factory chambering, the 7-03 Waters intrests me, and I am a big fan of the 30-30.

Decisions! Hoping to get some good info on the Henry Single Shot here!

Welcome to the forum from CT. And, my guess is that when you own your first Henry, you will be happy with it.

Welcome from Central Oregon and you didn't 'settle' for a n NEF Handi-Rifle - you found one of the best kept secrets in a SS rifle - I have one myself and love it!

Well, I guess I need to learn to work this forum. Can't figure how to PM you.

What part of NC? Maybe somewhere I am familiar with or just drive to. I really want to hold one in my hands before I order. I am shure one will fit me, but I know the T/C fits me.

PM's can be initiated in a few way .... to get one to me the easiest is to click on the picture of Yoda I use .... doing so will take you to a screen where you can click to send a PM .... we live in Wake County, south of Raleigh .... don't want to mislead you, the gun dealer we use probably will not have one in stock but he can get one rather quickly .... back when the CCH 45-70's first came out, they were very hard to find .... he got us one in less than a week

I'm eyeing the .223 single. Not sure if I'll pull the trigger on it yet (pun intended). Ammo is really cheap for that caliber.
