Impossible Marlin 25N problem

Post by Henry88 » Mon Feb 05, 2018 12:53 pm

Hey Guys,

So here is it; I can't replace the small spring that holds the firing pin back in my Marlin .22LR. To make matters worse, a good Samaritan over at Marlin Owners took one of his apart, and now he can't get his back together :(

I could not possibly recreate the thread, so I'm just posting a link. If that's a problem Mods, then just delete.

If any one has any experience, or thoughts to chip in, please do.

Thanks

As a young un I disassembled a 450 Honda engine/transmission down to component atoms and couldn't (for the life of me) put it back together right. After a week of trying and failing I gave up, put it in a crate and took it to the Honda motorcycle shop. They had it back together in two days and billed me for it all. Lesson learned that day.
Sounds like time to take it to the man. Find a real gunsmith.

I thought of something similar which I figured you probably thought of. But, buying a bolt if possible or another rifle for parts may be options also. Just a thought.

Hey Gang,
Well my brother in law came over and within 30 min had the bolt apart and problems solved. Now I'm just trying to figure out why everyone on Marlin Owners and basically "the internet" said not to do it the way he did......

Gun works as new.

Now I got to see if I can help the other fellow put his back together....LOL
