I posted a range report today but that was mostly about shooting. In this post I would like to talk about the people that were shooting today. Two I recognize from seeing them at the range before and have talked to them. Two other guys there as singles kept to themselves and had new badges on. You can always tell how long someone has been a member by their badge number. My number is 03-xxxx and I joined in 2003.
Then when I was leaving I saw an old friend. A bunch of us retired people would shoot Tuesdays 10 to lunch and then go eat lunch together. He told me the group had slowly disappeared partly because the range had limited hours but also some had passed away, some were too ill to shoot, and some he had just lost track off. So we agreed to meet next Tuesday at 10 again and shoot. Maybe others will join us again.
Sometimes in the past a dozen of us would be shooting. Well a dozen was there. Some guys just came to socialize and never shot.
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

Having been a retired guy, I can say that socializing can be as fun as the shooting. I hope the group gains momentum and is fun again.

Some of us were new to the group and by new I mean we had only known each other for about ten years. Some of the real old guys knew each other since WWII. But they slowly passed on and now we are the old timers. I joined in 2003 but started shooting there in 2000 with guys from work. Its kind of like the torch was passed on.daytime dave wrote:Sir Henry wrote:
